Crescent City Schools believes that every child deserves a great school. Crescent City Schools believes that every child deserves a great school.

We are a part of the movement that believes all students can and will learn, and that it is each school's responsibility to provide an outstanding, high-quality education for every child. The mission of Crescent City Schools is to help students build the academic skills, personal values, and intellectual habits of mind to succeed in high school, college, and beyond. Our organization creates life-changing educational experiences for students and, through this work, transforms a city.

As a part of the ongoing effort to rebuild New Orleans public schools, Crescent City Schools took over Harriet Tubman Charter School in the summer of 2011. Our talented team of educators and support staff have prepared for the challenges and rewards of working in a school turnaround environment, and our students are evidence that our hard work is worth it.

In the summer of 2012, Crescent City Schools added Akili Academy to our portfolio of schools. Founded in 2008, Akili is a K-5 elementary school that will grow by one grade each year to become a K-8 school. Akili Academy is one of the highest-performing non-selective elementary school in New Orleans, and joined the Crescent City Schools network as a way to continue that record of success.
